Chapter 91
Jerry swallowed hard. “No. I’m just saying if anybody should help bring her back, it should be me too.”
For a second nobody said anything then Cain finally looked at him for the first time since he arrived. Jerry forced himself not to look away from him and his piercingly scary eyes.
“If something happens to her because of what I started…” his voice lowered slightly, “I won’t be able to live with that.”
The room stayed silent another moment then Vic leaned back slightly against the table and looked at Jay.
“Well,” he muttered calmly, “the kid finally grew a spine.” He shrugged.
“If he wants to help, let him come,” Cain added.
Jay sighed. “Here,” He tossed a gun at Jerry. “Find other things you need.”
“Thanks,” Jerry said while nodding.
“Don’t die,” Jay said and returned to what he was doing.
