I woke up from the piercing rays of the sun.

“Wh…”

“Wake up, sleepyhead,” I heard her voice from the side of the bed.

I opened my eyes, half asleep.

“Ashley?” I called out, using the back of my hand to shield my eyes from the sun.

“Yeah… wake up,” she said again.

How did she get here? Whatever, I’m glad she’s here.

“Ashley… you’re here,” I said with a smile.

“You’re finally awake.”

A smile beamed on my face as she moved closer to me. I pulled her in for a hug.

“How did you even get here?” I asked, pulling away from her.

“I was called here, then someone gave me a key card to your room,” she answered.

I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by his actions. First, he took me to a hospital to get my leg checked, then, the hotel room, and now, my friend.
