I thought my heart would fail or worse, fall through my chest. My body froze, with the towel still around my chest. I clutched onto it for dear life as my heart raced out of control.

He walked away without even looking back, and all I could see were his broad shoulders, his scent still lingering in the room as my nostrils flared.

The moment he closed the door, I quickly placed my hand on my chest, panting. How could his presence have such an effect on me? Or maybe it’s because I’m half-naked—that definitely was it. Or… wasn’t it?
