“I thought you were too busy to come,” Hailey said, leaning on Declan’s arm.
Frozen by the sight of them both, I clutched onto my purse.

“I decided that I shouldn’t miss an invitation from my dear sister,” I said, forcing a smile on my lips and brushing parts of my hair from my face.
“That’s amazing… You know, I really thought you wouldn’t make it. I was almost sad, but seeing you here just made my day,” she said, pulling onto her husband.
Sad? I can see from your smile that you hate my guts, Hailey. My only question is why?
