Chapter 18, The Abduction
It was by habit that Maria took the cab and then the train home. As for Mike, it was by chance that he could not miss. He saw her getting off the train late at night and recognized her. He already had a plan in mind. It was not a perfect plan that he admitted to himself but it was a good one. He followed her; he always brought with him sleeping dust that he sprinkled onto a handkerchief. She walked past a deserted alley, and he knew it was his chance.
He closed into her and put the hanky on her nose. She was going to retaliate, but within seconds, she was fast asleep. This just always comes in handy while thinking those thoughts. He hoisted her up onto his shoulder.
He then decided to bring her back to his apartment. Tied her onto the chair and waited from dusk to sunset till she was back to her senses.
Her eyes were closed, but she was awake, her senses alert to the smell of risotto cooking, and her stomach grumbled as she opened her eyes. She knew she was in deep
