Chapter 4. The Childhood Friend
The next day she had mixed feelings because of what had transpired last night. She put her clothes on top of her bed and was combing her hair when she heard the honking of their driver.
She ignored him and lay on her bed with her hair wet, which, come to think of it, was out of character for her to do. She took her sweet time preparing for school. She usually rushed as she did not want to be late.
Michelle was about to drift off to sleep when suddenly, a loud knock interrupted her.
When she opened the door, the housekeeper said that Michelle looked pale and asked if she was alright. She thought of feigning sickness in order not to go. Michelle never dreaded going to school; it was out of character for her. She was always known to be the studious type and a straight-A student. Her dad dropped her off at school, and she walked to class.
