Chapter 36. Inquisitiveness
Nathaniel’s POV
It was morning. I opened my eyes and turned to look at the little baby breathing into my side. Kael hadn’t let me go last night when I went to his room to check up on him. I had almost forgotten someone was now hired to care for him since I was surprised that he was already changed and tucked away. He woke up the minute I touched his cheeks and didn’t stop crying until I took him back to my quarters with me.
I decided I could let him sleep next to me. That meant no waking up at night to drink or work or anything. I stroked his chubby cheeks and smiled.
He was still sleeping. I gently lifted him and placed him in his cot next to my bed. I got up and went to freshen up. Before I retired the night, Ferdinand had briefed me about the meeting with Rose.
