Chapter 41. Ana’s Union
Anastasia’s POV
I literally slumped on the couch when I got back home. I used both of my legs to force my shoes off my feet. One of the maids was standing at the entrance, waiting to receive instructions.
“Get me some food. Now,” I barked the order, annoyed by her quiet presence.
I picked up the remote and switched the television on. I needed to relax and ease off the stress of going to meet my sister at Nathaniel’s. William had said he couldn’t come with me, which was very proper of him since he was the reason I went there in the first instance. He had yelled at me all through the week, asking me why I hadn’t done anything to get my sister out of Germany. I couldn’t understand why he was so worried by her presence. Almost threatened.
I was not particularly pleased that she was here, too, anyway. She seemed desperate and opportunistic. If I had never reached out to her to attend my wedding, then she would probably not even be here.
