Chapter 39. Leave, Rose

Rose’s POV

“You came back here because you saw that I was doing well. You want to get a man, too? Rose, of all the places in the entire world where you could have gotten a job, why does it have to be at the home of my husband’s cousin?”

Her words started to make sense and prick me. How could she say this to me?

“I didn’t have any other options.”

“You did! You had a fucking job back home. Even if it wasn’t to your liking, you could have calmed down and found something that worked for you there. Why did you have to come here, Rose?”

I felt something break inside of me. The realization of what was happening was slowly dawning upon me. Anastasia wasn’t here because she was worried that I had come back again. She didn’t want me here. She didn’t want me around.
