Chapter 22

“Damn!” Colin cursed as he made maneuvered the car back to Aubrey’s house. He left after lunch, but he forgot to take his phone. There were essential details on that phone, so he couldn’t just leave it there.

Aubrey was surprised when he pulled over just about thirty minutes since he left. She was with Angela when he arrived, and she was playing with their daughter. She snapped her brows together to question why he returned, and he just smiled. “I miss you,” he replied before hugging her so tightly.

“Ah, that’s really charming, indeed, but you lied,” Aubrey replied as she wrinkled her nose and squeezed a skin fold on his arm.

He chuckled when he realized he’d been caught and asked, “Have you seen my phone?”

“I’m not sure, but let me check inside,” she said as she raced towards the house. Aubrey met Ysabelle on her way up to the second floor, and her stepmother asked why she was in a hurry. So, she explained that Collin had come back because of his phone. Ysab
