Chapter 47
Grace nodded, her voice a whisper. “Since it is a new place, it would take some time.”
Adam nodded, leaning on the railing and watching the night scenario of the night together with Grace.
After a few minutes of silence, Adam cleared his throat. “Let’s go in, the weather is getting rough.” Grace nodded and walked in.
Returning from the balcony, Adam and Grace settled down on the bed, taking their place. Exhaustion hung heavy on Adam, and it wasn’t long before his rhythmic breathing signaled his slumber. For Grace, sleep remained inapproachable as she lay beside her peacefully resting husband.
The curtains were dancing in the rhythm of the air conditioner, and the fluttering sound was obvious of the silent night. Grace could sense Adam’s presence, a comforting proximity that both warmed her heart and stirred a sense of unease. She shouldn’t feel this way, should she? That was what she thought.
