Cedric POV

I felt the metallic taste of blood in my mouth as I snapped my jaw right back into place. I had to admit, Alex threw quite a mean punch.

I could understand why he was furious and the punch should have been a wake up call for me, instead, all I could think about was Amber.

“Cedric!” Valerie’s voice interrupted my thoughts as she walked towards me. “I have been looking all over for you” her eyes widened when she saw the blood on my chin and shirt.

“Goddess! What happened?” she cupped my face with her delicate hands. As my fated mate, her scent should have calmed me down but tonight, it felt…. useless.

“I’m fine. It’s nothing” I whispered, taking two steps away from her.

“What do you mean nothing? You are bleeding. Let me get you some ice……”
