Chapter 20. The Father’s Guilt
Casildo sighed when Riyadh didn’t show up again for breakfast and shook his head, exchanging a look with his friend. He had no idea what was wrong with her. Even though she was human, unlike him, she barely got sick, and he knew she was lying about being sick to the maids. The rest of the house might not have lived with a human before and believed her, but he had lived with her and knew how her body worked.
She was his daughter and was not an ordinary human.
Mr. Bennett sighed. “Is she always this sick when she gets to new places, Casildo? She is not here for breakfast again. I thought she would have been better over the night.”
Casildo shook his head. “Not really. I will check up on her after breakfast.”
Mr. Bennett nodded. “Please do and do tell if she needs medical attention. I know of a human doctor, and I believe he is good, based on the reports I have heard from others.”
