Chapter 76. Framing
Marcus’s POV
A tight knot curled in my stomach, refusing to ease, watching the women in front of me taking the Wolfbane oil.
Her body jerked violently. I swallowed hard, “Give her another two sips.” I said to the healer.
He nodded, “Hold her tight,” he said to the guards. Their hands clutched hard on the patient’s hands and legs.
I held my breath watching the woman take another sip, and just like Adrianna had predicted, her symptoms reduced as her breathing became even, her body no longer shaking.
“Is she fine now?” I asked, staring at the healer. He didn’t respond instantly as he was checking the pulse of the patient.
He smiled, “I don’t know how you got this, but miraculously, she is stable. With time, I believe she will be fine.” He said.
I breathed in relief, my body felt light as if a huge burden had been lifted off my chest.
“Let’s go to the next patient,” I said to the healer.
Together we walked to the next tent. I
