Chapter 23. What I Signed Up For

Lena’s POV

Lucas’s Lamborghini was parked in the garage when I got home and I walked into the house to see him sitting on the couch with his laptop in front of him.

‘Looks like our dear husband finally remembers he has a home.” Andrea scoffed.

I cleared my throat and moved closer to him. “You’re back.”

“We are having dinner at the family house, go get ready,” he said without glancing at me.

What a jerk. He abandoned me all these while and couldn’t even acknowledge me when he came back.

I just had to endure all these for a little longer then I can leave this suffocating marriage once our deal is done.

“Okay.” I turned away and made my way upstairs.

After dressing up, I took a deep breath as I looked at myself in the mirror. I couldn’t recognise the woman looking back at me in the mirror. I looked empty as I had lost all the passion that was driving me because of everything that I had gone through.
