Chapter 67. It’s Already Too Late
Mason’s POV
I was in bed staring at the ceiling with a blank mind replaying the conversations I had with Max when Ava and Raelynn left Sophie’s room.
There was something suspicious about him.
I had known Max longer than any other person. He could fool everyone else but me. I could sense it in his voice, the tension, guilt, and hesitation.
Ava thought he had left because he chose to be with Aaliyah over her, but I knew Max. He wouldn’t have given it to Ava just like that, there was something more. Something he was hiding from me.
But then, no matter his reasons, he still hurt Ava and I was going to punish him for that because she didn’t deserve that.
And to add insult to injury, Raelynn had also appeared.
Raelynn.
Speaking her name released a tidal wave over me, a tidal wave of shock and fury and confusion and something gentler, something hopeful.
