Chapter 69. Who Requested the Test?

Mason’s POV

“Did you pack everything?” Ava asked, eyes scanning the hospital bed in case they missed anything.

“Yeah I did,” I replied fighting the urge to laugh because she repeated the question for the tenth time.

Raelynn packed the rest of my stuff into a backpack with her forehead furrowed into seriousness.

I just could not help but keep staring at her and regretting my cowardice last night. I should have apologized and told her how I felt.

“Raelynn,” Ava turned to her with a pleading look. “Can you please go home with Mason? He’s still injured, I just need you to get him settled in.”

Raelynn looked back and forth between me and Ava. “ I don’t think that’s necessary, Ava. “He’s fine.”

I wanted to speak up and tell Ava not to bother but she gave me an icy stare daring me to say a word.

“I don’t trust him alone while he’s still not well.” Ava continued. “Can you also make him something to eat while you are at it?”

Raelyn
