Chapter 17

Emily was surprised to see her friends looking like they were about to beat her up.

“Who are they?” Betty asked, and Emily whispered.

“My friends, we got into trouble before, and my dad only rescued me alone,” Emily said, and the three nodded.

With anger, Emily’s friends walked over and slammed the table hard. “Apologize right now, Emily!” The first one said, and Marcus chuckled.

“What’s funny?” the other said, facing Marcus.

Marcus raised his face, and what they saw immediately was fire.

“And who are you?” one of them asked, and Marcus laughed again.

“It won’t be so nice for you to know who he is because I am sure you will be so broken by the time you finish knowing who he is,” Betty said, and they swallowed hard.

“Do you still want to know who I am?” Marcus asked, and they were terrified. They looked at Emily and bowed.
