“I sent the message out to everyone, and I am sure everyone got the message, so why are you the only one here?” Tom asked again, and Martinez chuckled.

“How can I know? I got the message when I was home, and I rushed down here,” Martinez responded and sat down.

“Jane was a good person, and moreover, I am the sheriff here; I gave out an order, and nobody showed up, not even one officer showed up, not even Dave or Hank?” Tom said, and Martinez sighed.

“I don’t know, but I have a bad feeling about our team; I feel one of us works with the bad guys. One of us is an outsider; I know it’s weird, but I feel it so strongly in my spirit,” Martinez said, and Tom nodded.

“I wish I could wash off the feeling as well,” Tom said, and they both nodded.

“What do you think about everything?” Tom asked, and Martinez sighed.
