Chapter 18

Tom looked at the representative who was sitting on his chair and glared at him.

“Good morning, Sheriff Tom,” Hank greeted, but Martinez looked at him instead and dismissed him.

“Leave!” Martinez said, and Hank was shocked.

“Excuse you, you don’t get to talk to me like that!” Hank said, and Martinez chuckled.

“Really, you think I can’t talk to you like that?” Martinez said, and Hank was short of words; the look on Martinez’s face was quite terrifying.

“Hank, get out of my office and tell the whole squad that there is an urgent meeting after the governor’s representative sees himself out of my office. No one should be found missing at the meeting,” Tom said harshly, and Hank had no choice but to salute and walk out of the office.

“Can Mr. Bolton leave my seat?” Tom said, and the representative was shocked by Tom’s tone, which didn’t do much to hide his anger.
