Evelyn’s POV
“Yes. That necklace has had you bound to Cameron; he would not have wanted you to be able to connect with your wolf. The necklace weakens your wolf. They knew where we were, which explains why we were followed in the car. Believe me, I need you to trust me. They could still come after us. Take it off.” Griffin told me again, more firmly this time.
I pulled it off and threw it from my reach as it landed strewn across the muddy dirt track. No wonder I hadn’t been able to connect with Harper; I felt so empty and lost without her to help guide me. She must be so sad and weak. I was determined never to lose her again.
