Amelia’s POV
I adjusted my burgundy dress, the one reserved for important interviews and presentations. Tailored to perfection, it hugged my waist while the modest slit just above the knee added a touch of elegance. Paired with black heels and a delicate gold necklace, I looked polished—at least outwardly. Inside, my nerves were anything but composed.
A part of me had considered wasting time in my apartment, maybe letting Adrian stew for a while. After all, hadn’t he earned a little payback for how coldly he’d treated me that morning which had eventually made me resign? But I dismissed the idea almost as quickly as it came. Wasting time meant keeping Dr. Sharma waiting, and she deserved better.
