Chapter 11
“I was a man of the dark. Even my room could testify to that. I had left him abruptly, as if I was hurt by his presence, and ran for my life, and I have avoided him since then.
As I collided with him at the jewel shop, the box he had spilled its contents. I was shocked to see him and the contents. The box had been filled with little figurines and baby dolls. As my picture of him had been what the youngsters of today call macho man, I didn’t expect to find such cargo on him.
I made no effort to pick that stuff up because my teacher had always told me that those pretty dolls were dangerous. I didn’t have time for doll or toy play as a kid. But when I looked up, giving him an “I-could-have-done-worse” face, he smiled at me, and for some seconds, everything seemed to have faded except him.
“Hey, kiddo, how are you doing? Fancy meeting you here. You know you never gave me your name back at the game, though you seemed scared back then. How about we start over? Hi, I’m K
