Chapter 188. Execution
Kaelvin, the rebel leader, was brought into a large courtyard in chains, his feet scraping against the numerous rows of interlocking bricks on the floor. All ten of his handmen followed behind him, escorted by Argyron soldiers in silver armor. Their chains clinked, echoing into the night as all thirteen councillors watched, standing in a row before a large, white statue of Elven lord Althaeon in his battle armor, holding up a large silver sword carved out of metal.
Laeron had a subtle smile on his face. Aethon stared with a neutral expression, his robe dancing in the soft wind that blew by.
Moriah and Damian stared quietly, standing among a circle of white pillars that marked the end of the courtyard. Hand in hand, they watched as the rebel soldiers marched into the courtyard and were forced on their knees before the councillors. Five rebels were placed on each side of Kaelvin. Their faces held no emotion, as they all had already accepted their fates.
