Chapter 4

“Rise and shine! Bright and early, big sis!” Becky yelled from behind Heather’s bedroom door.

For once, Anna didn’t feel like killing her sister for disturbing her sleep.

This was because she was already awake. As a matter of fact, she had been awake for hours.

Washed and dressed and fully prepared to start the new day.

Today was going to be different. She’d see to it that things went her way.

“Awn, you’re already up? That takes the fun out of it,” Becky pouted, walking in and seeing Anna sitting at Heather’s desk in an old tatty nightgown.

She handed her sister a coffee which Anna accepted gratefully. She was a little less grateful after she took a sip, cringed, and fought the urge to spit it out. 

“God, Becky! Did you forget to add some coffee to this sugary water?”

“What do you mean?” Becky was perplexed, so she took a sip of her creation. It was perfect, in her opinion. Anna rolled her eyes and got up to make her own hot drink
