Chapter 5
The taxi dropped her off at Justin’s apartment after she decided that she would rather be there than at her own place. He was also always up for a chat or a rant, and that was precisely what she felt she needed.
“I didn’t call beforehand, though...I wonder if he’ll be in?” she murmured to herself as she walked up the staircase.
Justin’s apartment was identical to Anna’s, except that below it was a pizzeria and restaurant, and as a result, it was always noisy, even in the morning. Breakfast smells were wafting through the windows, and Anna’s stomach rumbled. She had already eaten, but now she wanted some pizza.
“Let’s discuss this over a pepperoni slice,” she decided, turning the corner that would lead to Justin’s door.
She stopped abruptly, then quickly hid behind the wall. There was a pretty lady sneaking out of Justin’s room. Anna blinked, cleaned any remnants of sleep from her eyes, and blinked again, but the woman was still there.
