Chapter 5
“So you stole my bath soap bubbles when I was incapacitated,” Anna accused Heather, waving around the nearly empty bottle. Heather meekly nodded, her mouth full of cereal.
She swallowed and defended herself, “You rarely ever use it anyway,” which was true. In fact, the only reason Anna noticed her used soap was because she was looking for some aspirin in the medicine cabinet.
“I was going to use it eventually!” Anna yelled.
Heather rolled her eyes good-naturedly. She’d been saying that for months.
She placed her empty bowl in the sink and was just about to leave for work when Anna called out to her.
“DownTown, 7 pm sharp, and remember to bring a date, Heather!”
Heather’s good mood plummeted almost immediately. She’d forgotten that Anna had only agreed to the apology dinner on the basis that she turns it into a double date.
