“What are you doing? Why are you looking at me like that? I’m not coming along for your date. I have to look after Anna,” Heather protested.
Becky pouted. She had forgotten about her “sick” sister.
“Guess we’ll all have to just stay home then,” she sighed.
“What’s really wrong with her anyway? This is the first I’m hearing that she’s sick,” Becky asked, joining Heather on the couch and popping some gum into her mouth.
After Heather told her, she started to shake with laughter. “You shouldn’t drink if you can’t hold your alcohol.” She clutched her sides. “Phew, no wonder she doesn’t want to come outside. Well, guess you’re stuck with me, Aunty Ther.”
Heather bit her bottom lip. “I’m not your Aunt. Why do you insist on calling me that? And there’s TV. We can all watch a movie when your friends get here.”
