Chapter 47. A Problem Without a Solution

I couldn’t get any sleep last night no matter how hard I tried. I kept having this uneasy feeling inside of me like there was brewing trouble. But, I assured myself I was just anxious because Gen had never slept away from home before. I called her as soon as I woke up this morning and to my relief, she was fine. She even sounded cheerful and very excited as she explained where she was and what it looked like. She was genuinely happy and I was glad. That was the only thing I wanted, her happiness.

I didn’t know what I was supposed to do today. It was a weekend and I didn’t have to go to work. The house was so quiet and lonely without Gen. Fighting the urge to call her, I placed my phone far away from me laying on the bed with a sigh. My phone suddenly rang and I sprang up from my bed to pick it up thinking it was Gen. But, it was just a friend who prepared Gen’s medicines.
