"Why aren’t you responding? Are you hurt?" he asked, glancing through my body before his gaze settled on my face once again.

"Why would something like this be placed so carelessly? It could get someone seriously hurt," he mumbled as he looked up.

"I’m f… fine," I stuttered.

"Are you sure?" he asked again. I noticed how close we were and quickly moved back. I looked toward the farm to make sure nobody had caught sight of us. Satisfied that nobody was the least interested
