Chapter 61
Winter’s POV
The golden rays of morning sunlight seeped through the curtains meeting me nestled against Lordan’s chest, feeling the rhythmic rise and fall of his breath. I shifted in my sleep then opened my eyes and rubbed them to dispel the last remnants of drowsiness.
I faced Lordan, who was still peacefully asleep beside me. I smile at how his features had been softened by the morning light.
“He’s still sleeping?” I muttered to myself. “I must have used too much.”
I decided it was time to get out of bed, but just as I moved to rise, Lordan’s strong hand grabbed me, and I shrieked in surprise.
His voice was still groggy from sleep.
“Stay with me longer.”
I shifted closer to him. “Are you angry with me?”
Lordan’s eyes held a gentle intensity as he continued to study me.
“I didn’t mean to sedate you... I just... I was just scared...”
Without a word, Lordan pulled me down to kiss me. His lips felt warm and forgiving.<
