Chapter 11
“Who did you say is coming?” Selene asked her father again to be sure.
“The Alphas of Red Moon Pack, Selene,” her father answered. “You remember them, don’t you?”
Of course, she remembered them. How could she forget the people who were part of the most embarrassing moment of her life? And that was saying a lot since she had so many embarrassing moments in her life. None of them held a candle to the one with the Alphas; not a single one could come close.
A month had passed since the funeral, and while they were still mourning the loss of their loved ones, it was easier to grieve since she stopped avoiding her father. They made a ritual of sitting together on the porch every Friday to reminisce about lovely memories they had with her mother and brother.
She knew the pain would never go away; she would always feel their absence, but she believed a time would come when it would be easier to think of them. She owed it to her mother to be strong for her father.
