Chapter 13
The guesthouse seemed farther away than it usually was to Selene. She could have sworn she had been walking for an hour, though she knew it hadn’t even been up to three minutes. The Alphas were walking behind her silently. She couldn’t hear their footsteps.
Stealth, she thought.
It unnerved her even more than the fact that they hadn’t spoken a word since she led them away from the pack house. The overall silence was messing with her. She didn’t know if they were secretly talking about her through their mind-link, or if they were watching her walk and thought she was walking funny, or worse, if they were recounting the incident that happened two years ago. She couldn’t deal with the silence anymore.
She stopped abruptly and turned to face both Alphas. The Alphas stopped before they bumped into her and cocked their heads in question.
