Chapter 18
It was nighttime, and most of the pack members retired for the night. The ones who were still outside were couples going on a lovely stroll or people who just wanted to be alone.
Selene was part of the latter. After Grace told them what she noticed and left, the office remained quiet as each was lost in their thoughts. They were suspicious of the sudden attack, as rogue attacks weren’t as common as they used to be, and the warriors that went as escorts were too skilled to have died at the hands of rogues.
What Grace said confirmed their doubts and raised a new problem. Who could have sent the rogues, and how did they prevent the warriors and her mother from attacking? Her brother was still young and hadn’t shifted yet, but she knew he wasn’t weak.
These questions were roaming inside her head, and she was sure they plagued others, too, but no one could speak about anything further. The report on the attack was already too much, especially for her father.
