“You know what? You should join our movie marathon,” Isabella offered, mostly out of the goodness of her heart, as Jane’s mouth dropped open. They had been waiting for Alexander to arrive from work. Jasmine used the opportunity to have a little bonding session with Isabella, while Jane, who had never felt like an imposter, perceived something quite similar with each second that ticked by.

“Oh no. I couldn’t possibly intrude,” Jasmine wore a modest smile. “It’s your ritual. I can’t just disrupt that.”

“Don’t be silly. You aren’t intruding,” Isabella waved off. “Even Jane doesn’t mind,” she turned to her friend. “You don’t mind, right?”

Jane laughed loudly, quite awkwardly. “Of course not. Jasmine can join in.”

Isabella clapped in glee, facing Jasmine with a hopeful expression. “See. You have to join in.”

Jasmine contemplated her options for a while. “Well, Alexander isn’t here yet. It wouldn’t hurt to do something fun in the meantime.”
