Chapter 16. Truth
The drive was silent—awkwardly silent for Jane, at least, but Alexander seemed more than content sitting in total silence.
He pulled up to a restaurant, San Franco’s, a super fancy place that had an entire waiting list. Jane had once heard it took months to get a reservation, but Alexander walked in like he owned the place.
“Good evening, Mr. Sinclair,” the beautiful waitress said.
Alexander only grunted in response.
“Table for two?” she asked, glancing behind him.
“Yes, please.”
They were led to a table at a quiet end of the restaurant, tucked neatly in a corner. Alexander shrugged off his suit jacket, draping it over the chair before taking his seat.
“Would you like to order now?” The waitress, Becky, her name tag read, took out a notebook and pen.
Alexander faced Jane for her decision. She shook her head. “Not right now, just water will do.”
“Same for me,” he loosened his tie, leaning back on the chair.
