Chapter 17. Taken
Isabella brought in a tray of cookies and chilled orange juice to her room, where Jasmine was sitting on the bed, sketching a dress idea down.
Isabella’s sketchbook was discarded on the surface of the bed, the same spot she had left it before offering to go downstairs and get some snacks.
“Here it is,” she dropped the tray on the small table next to her bed, picking a glass and passing it to Jasmine’s outstretched hand.
“Thanks,” she smiled, taking a sip.
“You should try the cookies; they’re to die for.”
Jasmine took her word for it, taking a bite into one. She moaned loudly as the cookie made contact with her tongue. “This is heaven.”
Isabella giggled, giving a low bow. “Thank you. Courtesy of moi.”
“Damn, girl. You’re good.”
They munched on the snack quietly while immersing themselves in work. After thirty minutes, the cookies had vanished, leaving only crumbs.
