Chapter 108. Jane’s Outing

Jane walked towards the door and Dave turned to look at her.

“Where are you going?” he asked.

“I am going out,” she told him without looking at him still walking to the door and he stood up abruptly.

“Going out? To where?” he stuttered, walking towards her. She turned round and looked at him with a puzzled look on her face. Jane shook her head.

“I don’t understand, can’t I go out?” She asked him, her voice oddly cold.

“Whoa,” Dave backed away, putting his hands up in the air. “You don’t have to sound that way. Of course you can go out. You can go anywhere you want to. I care, alright? That is why I want to know, Just in case.”

Jane felt bad for talking to him the way she did. She sighed and tried to sound casual but truth was, she felt hurt and she did not really know the reason why.

No, she did. She knew the reason she was upset but at the same time, she knew it was not a good reason enough to react the way she did but she could not help it
