Chapter 172. Pained Retaliation
Isabella sat in the living room staring blankly ahead of her. Her husband and son were there too but everyone was on his own. Alex with his phone and Alan playing with his toys scattered on the ground. The sound from the boy’s play and childish giggling was a distant noise in Isabella’s ears and she paid little or no attention to his existence.
“Mommy! Mommy!! Mommy!!!” Alan called excitedly crawling towards his mother. “Mommy look. I can fly a plane,” he told her with a proud smile on his face as he shoved the toy to her face. Isabella hummed absent mindedly and tried to shift the areophane away.
“That is very good Alan,” she told him.
“Did you see it?” the little boy must have noticed the indifference in his mother’s reaction and innocently pressed on. Isabella was forced to look at the toy he still held to her face.
“Oh sure, definitely, I can see it,” she said with a big smile on her face and only then was the boy satisfied and he let her be.
