Chapter 32. The Entire Package
Isabella’s father frowned in displeasure at seeing Alexander but hid it well under the guise of a forced smile.
“You’re here,” he announced. “Again.”
“I’m sorry for intruding, Mr. Monroe,” Alexander never meant a single word of that apology. “After this, I wouldn’t bother you.”
“Oh, please. You’re not a bother. Come,” Mrs. Monroe led him to a chair, steeling next to her husband. Alexander took the one opposite them.
“And to what do we owe the pleasure of this visit?”
“There is something you both need to know,” he started, drinking in their every movement, from a chair adjustment right down to a twitch of an eyelash.
“Please, do tell.”
“The results for the blood compatibility came out negative. You both aren’t a match.”
Mrs. Monroe shook her head in pity. “We’ll just have to find a donor, right?” she sighed. “It’s possible for parents to have a different blood group from their child, isn’t it?”
