Chapter 35. Below the Surface
Alexander sat back as he and Don stared at each other; not a single one agreed to back down.
“You could be a cop,” Alexander folded his arms over his stomach. “Try to get me to sell you some dr*gs and then arrest me. Dr*gs which I don’t have the slightest clue on.”
Don seemed impressed with his resilience. “I’m not a cop,” he stated. “Besides, I highly doubt that cops show up in people’s houses,” he leaned forward. “I get that you’re cautious, but I’m desperate. We lost our s*pplier, and now, that spot is as blank as an open cheque.”
Alexander looked like he was contemplating his options. “We use a lot of those dr*gs, so if you work under our boss, you’ll be assured protection and a smooth stay in Italy.”
“How did you even know about me?”
“You were dropping not-so-subtle hints. Besides, I did an extensive search on you, Anderson.”
Alexander’s eyes widened. “You ordered for a background test?”
