Chapter 38. Reunion

“Where is he?” Jane was waiting at the entrance of the hospital.

Jabbing a thumb behind him, Jane trailed to the direction he was pointing at.

“Good…”

“Take me to my daughter,” he basically commanded, disregarding Jane.

Alexander did as instructed, ignoring the dagger-like glare which Jane threw at him.

Only two men followed Ryder into Isabella’s room; the rest crowded the outside on the lookout for anything oddly related to a threat.

If Ryder was vulnerable at his office, he looked about ready to crumble as he watched Isabella.

“My daughter,” he tentatively reached for her, fingers grazing her cheek as though testing to see just how real it was.

Alexander stepped back, signaling to Dave. “Get the doctor.”

Nodding in understanding, Dave left the room, walking briskly in search of Doctor Trent.
