Chapter 52. Infiltration

Charlotte’s POV

After I rejected Adonis’s offer to help, Dakota, the lunar priestess, confronted us.

“I’m sorry, this is my fault. I just wanted to cause a little drama between you two. I didn’t think he’d leave!” she shouted with tears in her eyes.

I didn’t think she was the kind to act this way. I’ve only ever seen Kali act like that. Speaking of which, I’m sure Kali would be quick friends with the priestess now that I think about it.

Her brother Klaus stood up and slapped the back of her head as well. “You’ve always been this way since we were cubs. That’s not how a priestess should act!”

“Ouch!” she cried out even louder. “I said I was sorry! Stop hitting me!”

“That’s okay, Alpha Klaus. Despite what the priestess did, it’s not truly her fault,” the Queen said.

“Yeah, it’s that sleaze ball Rafael. He definitely wants to use the human for a voodoo ritual, like he did with his father and mine,” Iris added, clenching her fist as well.
