Chapter 51. Rafael’s Hubris

Hunter’s POV

The two days went by fast, and it was time for me to be sacrificed.

Two women came to get me in the morning, and both of them had swords. I believed they had heard of my battle with the faux Lycan and were taking precautions in case I tried to escape… Which obviously I did.

They escorted me through the thick forest. It seemed like we were getting closer to the center of the island, and I knew it was my time to strike. I jumped backward, surprising the woman behind me enough for her to drop her sword.

I rolled over and picked it up. The other woman tried to slash at me, but I stood up and countered her.

The force of the impact sent her backward; it seemed like they weren’t experienced in combat. I quickly knocked them out with the back of the sword. Despite them kidnapping me, I didn’t want their deaths to somehow lessen the contract I had with the other werewolf packs.
