Chapter 7. A Special Place

The morning looked splendid, and light entered through the window I had opened for fresh air to come inside the room. I woke up next to my husband; he was sleeping very deeply. I was nervous; I couldn’t keep sleeping.

So, I walked around the room, looking a little closer at everything that was there. It was a place filled with items, many curiosities that Jacob kept, such as books, boxes, letters, and various decorations. I was struck by his ease of accumulating objects; I used to get bored of always seeing the same things.

Seeing that Jacob didn’t seem to be waking up, I left after getting dressed to have breakfast with my mother and sisters. Lily hugged me as soon as she saw me; they had missed me despite being so close. My sisters were very attached to me.

My mother looked at me with some discomfort because of what had happened in the castle. It was noticeable that she wanted to talk to me about the subject and didn’t know how to do it.
