Demetrese let out a breath that he didn’t realize he had been holding in, and then he allowed a smile to come over his face. She wasn’t exactly head over heels in love with him, but at least willing to give things another go, and that made this shit show before him worth watching. He had to admit that he wasn’t a great fan of this Dracula that Lilith had created. But at least the chap—or whatever type of creature he was—had the decency to tell her to come back to him. Of course, if he were in the man’s shoes, he probably would say something similar to Lilith, a woman Demetrese quickly grew to realize was more fickle than the weather on the earth realm.He stayed crouched in his position in the shadows until she left Dracula. He wasn’t sure why. If they’d have kissed, he would have lost his shit, yet something made him stay.
Once she vanished from sight, he sprinted back to the Underworld and took refuge by the river they’d shared intimate dinners on the past few dates he’d had
