Chapter 21. From a Boy to Something More Than a Man
The celebrations ended in the early evening. A large smile grew on Keme’s face as he watched his father beat his chest in pride and dance in the sacred circle with the elders. He noticed Keme sitting on a nearby log and walked over to him.“I am proud of you, my son. You have done well for the tribe. You are a great hunter and warrior for this tribe and will surely please the gods by being a great chief.”
“Thank you, Father,” Keme said as he got up from the log.
“Go and get some rest so you can hunt again in the morning at first light.”
“I will,” Keme said as he turned towards his teepee.
He stared at it for a few moments before deciding on a stroll through the forest, thinking it was the best way to reward himself on the excellent hunt and the only way to get a glimpse of the girl, Chepi that appeared in his dreams nightly.
