Chapter 40. Growing Pains

She took them both by the hand and had them 30 miles outside London at the Hellfire Caves in West Wycombe within seconds. Alec knew they could flash to anywhere they desired, but he never thought he’d get used to it.

Lilith released her grip on them as she led them down the cave’s path.

“Come. We must get further in so no one will see us.”

They walked a short distance in, and then Lilith sat on what looked like a monument paying tribute to the pagan god Hercules. Alec rested upon a statue of Venus, and Armand rested upon a statue of Aphrodite. He closed his eyes briefly before he opened them and stared straight at Alec.

“After these years of me keeping you from harm, you wind up saving me.”

“Armand, I don’t know if that is the exact phrase I’d use.”

“I can’t see it any other way. You and your gorgeous girl are angels.”
