Chapter 23. Punished
I complained about him hurting me, but he didn’t seem to care. And every time that I’d try to yank my wrist away, he would tighten his hand around it, causing me even more pain.
We finally reached a door, and the other guard opened it. Once it was open, I was shoved inside and I fell to my knees.
Pain shot through them but I had bigger things to worry about, so I was on my feet in seconds. Once standing, my eyes fell on the reception, an older lady, and a few more guards.
The lady was seated behind a desk and she had her eyes trained on me, a small frown glued to her wrinkly lips. “You haven’t even spent three days at my house and you’re already causing problems?” She spoke up. Though she was old, hair full of white, she had a young voice.
“I didn’t do anything,” I began. “I saw a picture of myself on the bulletin board and I—“
