Chapter 29. The Blank Check

Maddie stared at me, waiting for me to say something. I knew that I had to speak but I didn’t know exactly what to say. 

And I was also trying to figure out why she was willing to give me any amount of money that I wanted just so I could stay away from Giveon. 

I knew she didn’t like me, so it wasn’t to protect me. It probably was because she still liked him and wanted him all to himself.

To be honest, I didn’t want to be involved in any of this drama, but at the same time, I felt taking this check and cashing it out would push me into something that I wasn’t prepared for.
